Alexa earned a Bachelors of Social Work from Bowie State University which lead to the attainment of a Masters of Social Work from The University of Maryland School of Social Work. Her passion lies in combating the complex effects of trauma, and its ability to wreak havoc on individuals, families, and relationships. Through the platform of Social Ground Wellness, she has been able to turn her passion into practice!
Sequoyah Sherrill, LCMFT
Sequoyah is a clinically trained Marriage and Family Therapist currently working in the DMV area. Sequoyah received a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University and a Masters in Couple and Family Therapy from Drexel University. Sequoyah has training in Trauma, CBT, Multisystemic Therapy and Assertive Community Treatment. Despite the love she has for the work done with families, couples and children, her passion lies with re-entry and assisting both men/women with returning to their communities after incarceration. She believes education and awareness are key to breaking the stigma and looks forward to the journey she and fellow co-founders have/will take in ensuring quality services are rendered to all whom they encounter!
Shae Gorham, LCMFT
Shae began her journey in becoming a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist during college at Howard University and University of Maryland College Park for undergrad, achieving a bachelor’s degree in Family Science. From there she fine-tuned her passion at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, receiving a Master’s in Marriage (couples) and Family Therapy. Shae believes in a holistic approach to therapy and overall personal wellness, promoting healing, development, and integration of all aspects of life to ensure a more fulfilling and purposeful journey!
